This rubber buffer absorbs vibrations between the front axle and the head chassis on your Type 3. After decades - these rubbers harden and the suspension quickly leaks - making this a classic wear item. With OEM number 311 705 263A - you're good to go - and you install it on the bottom left. Combine this with the rubber on the right side and your front suspension will be nice and tight again.
