The ignition switch turns on your entire electrical system - so a malfunction is immediately noticeable. This is the original version (111 905 865K) used in T1 - Karmann Ghia - and Type 4 - with the characteristic three contact points for ignition - lights - and starter motor. Replacement is worthwhile if you experience sticking contacts or if the starting process feels sluggish. Combine this part with a new condenser and contact points for a complete ignition overhaul.
