This sealing ring ensures that your fuel sender is watertight in the tank without leaking. It is a small but essential part that simply wears out after years of service and needs to be replaced if your fuel tank starts to leak. VW used this ring on all T2b and T3 models with OEM number 113 919 131A. Combine this part with a new fuel sender while you're at it - and you'll be all set.
