This screen is located in the fuel tap and prevents dirt from the tank from entering your fuel line. If there is dirt in your tap or it is not working properly - you will quickly end up with a clogged screen. VW used this original screen (OEM 111 209 147A) in T1 - T2 - Beetle - and Karmann Ghia models. It's useful to order a new fuel tap or a complete fuel line immediately - for a completely clean system.
