This classic fuel cap with external closure (343 201 551) fits almost all air-cooled VWs and is much stronger than you'd think. The 70mm size is standard for T2, as well as for Beetle and Karmann Ghia, and the external closure ensures you won't have trouble with internal mechanisms getting stuck. Especially useful if you drive a lot of classic routes and don't want just any cap. Combine this cap with a new fuel tank or a complete fuel system overhaul for optimal reliability.
