Lock for the front hood of the VW Beetle from 08/1967, with OEM number 111 823 507E/F. The mechanism engages the striker on the luggage compartment and keeps the hood closed. Replacement is necessary in case of wear causing the hood to no longer latch properly or to open with difficulty.
