This rubber seal sits between the gas spring pump and the tailgate and prevents dirt and moisture from entering the mechanism. On your T3 - this part wears out over the years - leading to leakage and a weaker gas spring. The replacement part N 902 282 01 is easy to replace and will restore the desired stiffness to your tailgate. Combine this with a new gas spring for the complete solution.
