This spring holds your engine lid and pick-up side panel in the open position - so you have both hands free when working under the hood. VW used the replacement part (211 827 401) on T2as - and this replacement is just as strong and reliable. After years - the spring can weaken - causing your lid not to stay up properly. Combine this spring with a new gas strut for the side panel if you're already working on it.
