This lock ensures your front trunk stays neatly closed and is the inner housing into which the latch engages. On a Beetle and T1 - this part can wear out or become damaged - especially if the lock is difficult to open or doesn't secure properly. The replacement part 111 823 507A fits directly without any hassle. Combine this with the outer lock and handle for a complete repair.
