The folding roof's front beam takes a lot of abuse: sun - rain - and constant folding in and out. This seal (OEM 225 875 549) prevents water from getting between the canvas and the roof opening - which causes rust and mold. If your roof leaks or the previous seal has shriveled - this part is really necessary. Combine this with a new rear beam seal and the corresponding new rubbers for a completely renewed roof.
